Solutions for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) occurs when the brain is damaged due to sudden, forceful trauma.  Because of the delicate composition of the brain, even mild head trauma can impact and damage the brain.  Damage to the brain can be permanent if left untreated, and may even be life-threatening.

The most common causes of TBI include: transportation accidents (automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians), slips and falls (elderly), violence, and recreational activities (football, soccer, wrestling, baseball, skiing, snowboarding).

Concussion is the most widely known form of TBI.  A concussion occurs when force to the head or neck causes impact on the brain.  Symptoms of a concussion and other TBI include: blurred vision, loss of consciousness, memory loss, headache, confusion, bad taste in mouth, lethargy/fatigue, mood swings, and difficulty concentrating or thinking.

TBI may cause permanent loss of brain function and death if left untreated.  If you suspect that you or someone you know may be suffering from TBI, you should seek medical attention right away.  Treatments are available to limit adverse health effects and restore brain health and function. We are eager to help you and your loved ones recover from these life-threatening injuries.   We will also guide you in learning what measures you can take to prevent TBI.
